Our Approach
We are a local charity, which means we understand the specific needs of communities in South Cumbria and North Lancashire. We work alongside — not instead of — the NHS and other statutory services.
Our approach is always person-centred, compassionate and evidence-based. We follow the Samaritans' safe messaging guidelines in everything we produce and say publicly. We do not provide counselling or clinical services directly, but we ensure that people can reach those who do.
Our programmes are shaped by people with lived experience of suicidal crisis and bereavement. Their insight is at the heart of what we do.
