Make a Difference in Your Community

Whether you give your time, your skills, or a donation — every contribution helps us prevent suicide and support families across South Cumbria and North Lancashire.

Volunteer with Us

Our volunteers are the heart of everything we do. Whether you can spare a few hours a month or want to take on a bigger role, we would love to hear from you. No specific qualifications are needed — just a genuine desire to help your community.

What volunteers do:

  • Help at community awareness events and information stalls
  • Support our social media and community communications
  • Help with fundraising activities and events
  • Contribute professional skills (design, finance, legal, IT)
  • Share our work within your own networks

Please note: Some volunteer roles require a DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check. We will support you through this process. Full training and induction is provided for all volunteers.

Fundraise for Us

Have an idea for a fundraising event? We would be delighted to support you. Here are some ideas to inspire you:

  • Sponsored challenge — a walk, run, cycle or other physical challenge
  • Coffee morning — a classic and effective community fundraiser
  • Workplace collection — talk to your HR team about a charity of the year partnership
  • Birthday fundraiser — use JustGiving or Facebook fundraiser for your birthday
  • Local event — quiz nights, raffles, bake sales — creativity is welcome!

Spread the Word

One of the most powerful things you can do is tell people about us. Share our website, talk about suicide prevention openly and safely, and help reduce the stigma that prevents people from seeking help.

Always follow safe messaging guidelines when talking about suicide. Learn more.

Campaign with Us

Write to your local MP about mental health funding. Call for better crisis services in our region. Join national campaigns like World Suicide Prevention Day (10 September). Every voice counts.
