Who We Are

A small, passionate team of volunteers and trustees committed to reducing suicide and supporting those affected by it across South Cumbria and North Lancashire.

Our Story

Why We Were Founded

Action for Wellbeing was founded in direct response to the devastating impact suicide has on families and communities across South Cumbria and North Lancashire. We became a registered charity in 2018 — charity number 1179365 — to ensure that no one in our area faces a suicidal crisis without access to local, compassionate support.

We believe in the power of community — that every one of us has a role to play in helping people through their darkest moments. Whether it is a neighbour noticing the signs, a teacher asking the right question, or a family member knowing where to turn, small actions save lives.

We are entirely volunteer-led. Every penny we raise goes directly into our work. We do not have offices or paid staff — we have people who care, giving their time because this matters.
